MAN TGX 100 years
On 21 June 1915, the company “Lastwagenwerke M.A.N.-Saurer” was entered in the commercial register of the city of Nuremberg. The most important event will take place on 25 July at the headquarters in Munich, when the 60th anniversary of the plant where industrial vehicle production was transferred from the original site in Nuremberg will also be celebrated.
Managing Director Joachim Drees sums up the historical significance of the date as follows: "MAN has had an eventful history, characterised by periods of pioneering activity and success, but also by great challenges. Today, we are undergoing a phase of reorganisation, which also represents an important opportunity for our company. For me, the centenary celebrations are therefore taking place under the motto: firmly rooted in the past, towards a successful future within the Volkswagen Group."
In addition to the celebrations, various initiatives will mark the anniversary. First and foremost is a dedicated website, www.100years.man.eu, which takes visitors on a digital journey through 100 years of commercial vehicle production.
The focus is on the values that have shaped the history of the German company, with the aim of adding stories from employees and partners with whom the company has worked in some cases for many generations throughout the anniversary year. A special edition vehicle will also be launched: the MAN TGX D38 "100 Years
