Mercedes-Benz Truck and “Fuel Duel”, what a challenge! The test program launched by the German company allows to compare the latest generation of the Actros with the models of the competition. The tests that allow the trucks of the star brand to be compared with the main competitors in terms of efficiency are active in 22 European countries and mainly involve the Actros1842 LS and 1845 LS models. So far, Mercedes-Benz trucks have faced challenges with the vehicles of the competition in 1,000 Fuel Duels, covering over 5 million kilometres and winning 90% of the duels, recording an average consumption lower by 10.5% compared to the competitors. The tests are carried out simply, the vehicle is offered for a two-week test run to customers who regularly use vehicles of other manufacturers and, before getting behind the wheel, the driver undergoes a briefing and is initially assisted by a professional driver or a Mercedes-Benz Truck expert. Immediately afterwards, the driver individually tests the new Actros in the real working conditions to which he is accustomed and with the assistance of the FleetBoard telematics systems.
