Air rescue 118 Bolzano EC-145 Pelikan

There are four rescue helicopters, the Pelikan 1 and 2, which are in service all year round, as well as the Aiut Alpin Dolomites and the Pelikan 3, which are activated seasonally.

For ten years, the "HELI - Helicopter rescue South Tyrol" association has been responsible for this valuable service.

The association Heli - Helicopter rescue South Tyrol was officially founded in 2010 and manages the helicopter rescue service in South Tyrol on behalf of the Provincial Council of Bolzano.

The members of the association are the Alpenverein Südtirol, the Landesrettungsverein Weißes Kreuz, the Alpine Rescue in the Alpenverein Südtirol, the Alpine and Speleological Rescue Alto Adige CNSAS and the Italian Alpine Club.

Helicopter rescue South Tyrol has two rescue helicopters Pelikan 1 based in Bolzano and Pelikan 2 based in Bressanone.

During the seasonal periods the service is supported by Pelikan 3 based in Lasa and by Aiut Alpin Dolomites based in Pontives in Val Gardena
