How to apply the Max-Model Decal

Before starting:

To ensure a good result by following the method presented here, the decals must be applied on
a painted and well dried surface (at least 12-24 hours). Our decals are printed on transparent film integral so each element must be cut out from the sheet and applied individually.

Recommended materials:

  • container with tepid water or sponge soaked in warm water
  • Microscale® Microset and Microsol emollient liquids
  • transparent spray paint

Instructions:

1 Make sure the model surface is smooth, clean, and shiny.

2 With cutter or cutter and ruler cut the decal as close as possible so that the transparent carrier is as small as possible.

3 With tweezers dip the decal in warm water or place it on the wet sponge for about thirty seconds then remove it and let it rest until the glue that unites it to the paper bearing has softened to allow perfect sliding on the model.

4 In the meantime, use a brush to pass a thin layer of Microset emollient liquid over the area where the decals will be applied (optional). This will allow, once the decal is applied, to move it without problems to obtain the desired alignment.

5 With the tweezers, slide the decals (still supported by the carrier paper) onto the model taking care that the paper does not touch the emollient drops placed on the model.

6 Use a cotton swab to wipe off excess liquid and then let the decal dry.

7 After about 10-15 minutes check that the decal has fully adhered. If there are micro bubbles on the surface, apply a coat of Microset by piercing all the bubbles with the tip of the cutter.

8 In the event that the surface to be decorated was particularly irregular I suggest using the most powerful emollient liquid or Microsol.

9 When everything is dry (wait at least 24 hours after laying), all you have to do is apply a coat of matt or glossy varnish according to your preferences and then if desired apply some touch of aging (optional).
