The Mercedes-Benz SK, an acronym standing for Schwere Klasse, or ‘Heavy Class’, is a famous series of heavy goods vehicles produced by Daimler-Benz between 1988 and 1998.
Regarded as a true mainstay of road transport in the 1990s, it was a must-have addition to the Max-Model decal range.
The version produced is the 1948, very common in Italy, where the 19 indicates 19 tonnes and 48 indicates the engine power of 480 hp delivered by the V8 turbo engine.
With a displacement of 14.6 litres and featuring the new transmission and EPS control system.
It operated with electro-pneumatic gear pre-selection via a small joystick, requiring no physical effort from the driver, and together with Iveco and Volvo, it revolutionised the world of heavy goods transport.
I found two SK models in the boxes and, once painted, I enjoyed embellishing them with all the details found on the real truck and, of course, I then applied the decals.
